William A. Tompkins Jr. was born in Elmhurst, Illinois and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  He received his Bachelor in Arts from the University of Florida.  While attending the University of Florida, he played on the Varsity Tennis Team.  He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Hamline Law School in St. Paul, MN. While attending Hamline, he was an associate of the Law Review. He has written articles on various real estate related topics that have been published in “The Florida Bar Journal”, “Action Line”, “The Fund Concept,” “The Orange County Bar Association Bar Briefs” and “ Realtor Report.” He was an underwriting attorney for Attorneys Title Insurance Fund, Inc. for 6 years and was a claims and title attorney for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation for 2 years. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Southern College in Orlando, FL.

William is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts.
