Michelle received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of Central Florida with a major in marketing in 1996. She worked for several years for Auto-Owners Insurance Company in the claims and underwriting departments before attending law school. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Florida A&M University College of Law, where she was elected and served as the Articles Editor of the Law Review from 2005-2006. Michelle served as Secretary of the Student Bar Association during her second year at FAMU, competed in the 2005 BMI/Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition at the Cardozo School of Law, and worked as a law student intern with the U.S Attorney's Office of the Middle District of Florida for a semester. Michelle is admitted to practice before Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
