Kimberly was born and raised in South Florida .  She received her Bachelor in Political Science from University of Florida .  She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law. As a law student, she participated in an internship with the Public Defender's Office in Palm Beach County , Florida , and in two public defender clinics.  Upon graduation, Kimberly received the Ace Award for clinical excellence.   She is a former Assistant Public Defender for Escambia County , Florida , and Assistant State Attorney for Brevard County , Florida .

Kimberly is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts.
