Carol was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa. She majored in Education and a minored in geography. Carol completed a four year program in three. While attending U.T., Carol was admitted into the university's honorary scholastic society, ‘ULEMA' for her academic achievements. Carol was a member of U.T.'s band as a majorette serving as head in her last year. She obtained her first Juris Doctorate degree and a Master of Laws degree from Atlanta Law School, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her second Juris Doctorate was earned at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. While at Stetson, Carol was on the honor roll, volunteered service for the community at the ‘Spring” of Tampa, a shelter for battered women and children, and received a certificate of merit award for her participation in the City of Tampa Attorney's office for her participation in the Civil Government Clinic. She has practiced in both civil law and criminal. She has practiced in state courts, federal courts and administrative law courts in both Florida and Georgia. She taught workers' compensation as an adjunct professor at John Marshal's College of Law in Atlanta, Georgia.
Carol is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in 1997. She is also admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the Georgia court of Appeals and Superior Courts of Georgia in 1992. She is also admitted in D.C. to practice in the Court of Appeals in 1998. |
